Install NetBird
SkyNet runs on NetBird, a lightweight secure-networking client.
Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS and Android are all supported.
Point it at SkyNav's server
NetBird needs to know where SkyNav's network lives. Pick whichever route suits you.
netbird up --management-url https://vpn.skynav.cloud
Works on every platform and also configures the desktop app — the setting is remembered after the first run. On Windows any ordinary terminal will do; no administrator rights are needed, as installing NetBird was the only admin step. On macOS and Linux, prefix the command with sudo.
Optional: add quantum-resistant encryption recommended on laptops and desktops
SkyNav's servers already use it. Adding it on your own machine protects today's traffic against being recorded now and decrypted years from now. Use this command instead of the one above:
netbird up --management-url https://vpn.skynav.cloud --enable-rosenpass --rosenpass-permissive
Keep both flags together. Without --rosenpass-permissive your device refuses to talk to anything that lacks the feature — including phones, which cannot support it at all. Phones and tablets should use the plain command above.
- Open NetBird.
- Click the profile menu — labelled “default” — at the top.
- Choose Add Profile.
- Give the profile a name, for example “SkyNav”.
- Under Management Server, choose “Self-hosted” — not “Cloud”.

https://vpn.skynav.cloud - Click Add Profile, select the new profile, then Connect.
Sign in
Your browser opens SkyNav's sign-in page — use your SkyNav account.
The first sign-in asks you to set up two-factor authentication, so have an authenticator app ready (Google Authenticator, 1Password and Bitwarden all work). After sign-in, the connection completes by itself.
Once connected, this page notices — the status bar above turns green and Continue lights up.
